21 Day Detox and Fat Shredder Meal Ideas
If you don’t know this about me, I like to drink red wine and cook. And we all know RED WINE IS GOOD FOR YOU. OK antioxidants are, alcohol, not so much. But really, it’s the sugar I think I’m addicted to, in the grapes. (That makes wine so yummy!)
So, when you’ve had too much sugar, or should we say too much wine, or pizza, or french fries or whatever your vice may be, it’s a good idea to cleanse the body. How would your car run if you never changed the oil? Or if you never cleaned out your oven or your garbage disposal?
OK, you get the point, you are full of it. And it needs to go. “GOT TO GO!”
If you are known to have headaches, fatigue or have trouble losing weight, detoxing may be the answer. This also means cleansing the palette so you can break any addictions you have. Your palette gets accustomed to things like fat, salt, and sugar. To the point where you may crave it and not even realize you are eating it hidden in processed foods. Detoxing is a process, that for some, feels like a lot of work. But I promise you; the rewards outweigh the pain. The wonderful side effect of detoxing? WEIGHT LOSS! Oh yeah, skinny jeans here I come!
I recently went through a 21 day detox, which I like to do at least once or twice a year.
Not only to jump start weight loss but to detox my blood, liver, colon and small intestines. It is amazing how good you feel even after the first four days! Not to mention, I went down a size the first week and I wasn’t even working out!! Rest is more important while cleansing than a hard workout.

I have listed below how your first week will look like. There should be plenty of pre-planning to make sure you have sufficient produce at your house, as you will be eating lots of vegetables during detox. And of course, organic is best when possible but it’s better to eat a conventionally raised apple than a bag of chips. So eat the apple but wash it with a fruit and veggie cleanse.
THE RULES FOR 21 DAY DETOX
- Absolutely no alcohol
- One serving or no coffee, soda or other caffeinated beverages
- No grains or starches
- Please NO dairy
- Water (minimum of 8 cups per day)
- Daily journaling
- No sugar (other than those found naturally in fruits and vegetables) or artificial sweeteners
- First thing every morning, drink the juice of 1/2 a lemon in a cup of warm water
21 DAY DETOX TIPS
- Do not engage in strenuous physical activity, even if you are used to it. Instead, participate in yoga or gentle stretching.
- Get plenty of rest and sleep. You may feel more tired than usual the first few days of detox. By the end of the week, you should feel energized.
- Use spices and herbs, small amounts of low-sodium soy sauce, salt, pepper, vinegar, and mustard.
- Choose raw, or lightly steamed vegetables.
- Do not skip meals.
- This is a great time to meditate, listen to relaxing music and engage in other stress-reduction activities.
- Think about the commitment you are making to yourself, what you stand to gain and how accomplished you will feel.
- How often you participate in a four to seven-day detox program will depend on your particular needs. Some people choose to complete the detox up to four times a year (every three months). It is recommended that you undergo a detox program one to three times each year.
It is totally possible to travel and definitely possible to work all week while detoxing.
I packed all the food you see below for my husband while he was driving 10 hours and out of town for an unexpected trip for a couple of days. As long as you can bring a cooler, or have access to purchase fresh vegetables, it’s all good! Fruit and veggie bowls for snacks, vegetable soup for lunch, kale chips, apples, kiwi, boiled eggs and cooked greens for breakfast. That’s a Garden of Eating right there!
PHASE 1 DAYS 1-7 BEGIN 21 DAY DETOX:

It is very important you only eat approved foods. This week is only 7 days. You can do less but I have found a week to be magical. You can do anything for 7 days. Think about why you are doing this and the reward of how good you will feel and look. Everything you need including the 7-day detox with fiber and release tablets will be in a TLS 21 day challenge kit.
You do not have to use supplements or the detox kit, shakes etc but in this day and age, it really helps jumpstart weight loss, when people are on the go so much and eating processed foods. I think the CORE supplement that you take before your two largest meals are like will power in a bottle and will help make this week easier.

21 DAY DETOX PLANNER
DRINK 96 ozs of water throughout the day! Have a way to measure and track! (12 eight oz glasses)
Upon Waking: ½ lemon in 1 cup of warm water, then wait 30 minutes and take 1 rounded scoop of the fiber powder and 2 release tables from the Nutriclean detox kit. Begin to prepare breakfast (waiting 20 to 30 minutes, then eat)
Breakfast
- 1 serving of Protein (i.e. one egg)
- 3+ servings of vegetables (steamed and/or raw)
- 1 serving of fruit (the size of your fist)
AM Snack
- Take Isotonix Multi-Vitamin and OPC-3 antioxidant; wait for 10 to 20 minutes then eat:
- 1 serving of fruit
- 2+ serving of veggies (do not underestimate how much, cup your two hands and then create a mound. That is one serving if that helps you visualize how much a serving is)
Before Lunch: ½ Hour before lunch take 2 TLS Core with 8 oz of water
Lunch
- 4+ servings of Vegetables
- 1 tbs of olive oil (or coconut oil or avocado oil)
PM Snack
- 2+ servings of veggies
- 1 cups of flavored water (water with mint or cucumber or lemon)
Before Dinner: ½ Hour before Dinner take 2 TLS Core
Dinner:
- 1 serving of protein
- 1 serving of good fat (1 tbs of olive oil or avocado or coconut oil)
- 3+ servings of vegetables
- (optional) 1 serving of fruit

Below is a beautiful breakfast of organic steamed beets I picked up at Costco, steamed carrots with fresh grapefruit and pastured eggs sautéed with spinach, green onions, cayenne, basil, thyme, chives, parsley, and a little detox tea. Food prep for a detox week means lots of greens! Sauté a giant red onion in a couple of tablespoons of olive oil until soft then add all the stems of all greens chopped small and about 10 or 15 cloves of garlic smashed. Then add chopped greens, whatever mix you like. I added 2 bunches kale and 5 bundles of swiss chard plus some Chinese greens and my favorite: a plastic bag full of collard greens. I seasoned with cayenne. Makes about 15 cups cooked greens.

I sometimes need to get creative with 21-day detox breakfasts, really out of boredom as you can see here with this one. I wasn’t sure how it was going to turn out but we are both pleasantly surprised! It’s a lovely combination of sweet and spicy! Steamed broccolini sautéed with beets, salsa, spinach, fresh cilantro, southwest seasoning and hot sauce with eggs over medium!
